Welcome to Day 8:

Like so many millions, I have been deeply effected by the tragic loss of Kobe Bryant, his 13 year-old daughter, and everyone on that helicopter. 

I grew up a rabid Lakers fan. 

That picture above is me and brother at Game 6 of the 2000 NBA Finals...the night Kobe won his first championship.

Kobe had something special that transcended sports.

You may have noticed how Kobe's death is a global news story. Not since Princess Diana have we seen the sudden death of someone so famous.

What is it about Kobe that touches so many millions?

In this dark sadness, let's begin to crack open the LIGHT.
